The Kreuzkirchl was built in 1692 by Peter Dellai. The early Baroque central-plan building housed the statue of the suffering Redeemer.

The church dedicated to the two apostolic leaders is located opposite the Capuchin Church and is an extension of the Ansitz Jöchlsthurn. It was built by the Jöchl family, who at that time also selected the chaplain themselves. With the extinction of the male line, the church was transferred by the regional court to the city. The heirs of the Jöchl family were granted the gallery, allowing them to attend mass without mixing with the general public. For this purpose, they even had a separate entrance through the residential building.

In 1787, the church, with its beautiful late Gothic winged altarpiece by the Tyrolean master Friedrich Pacher, was bought back by the Enzensberg family, who by then had become the owners of the Jöchlsthurn. It remains in private ownership to this day and, like the Ansitz Jöchlsthurn itself, is currently not open to visitors..
