As certified “green event”, the markets in Bolzano, Meran, Bruneck, Brixen and Sterzing are arenas of sustainability, naturalness and regionality and thus bring important values that have long characterized South Tyrol. The focus is on the use of environmentally friendly products, economical use of energy, efficient waste management, regional value creation and social responsibility. Forward-looking, the Christmas markets concentrate primarily on the home environment, on local quality products, on traditional and innovative handicrafts and are therefore unmistakable. The Christmas market in Sterzing has also been completely plastic-free since 2019.
Last but not least, they are one thing above all, a meeting point! Young and old come together here, they experience the varied nuances of indulgence in South Tyrol in the open air, witness traditional and reinterpreted craftsmanship, stroll through the decorated alleys and find original gift ideas.
