There's plenty to discover around Sterzing and Rosskopf during the summer. The Outdoor Center is the perfect starting point for guided tours, family activities and bike hire, making it ideal for anyone who wants to explore the region actively.
Every week, our summer programme offers a wide variety of outdoor experiences, including guided hikes and bike tours, sunrise walks, gourmet excursions, llama and alpaca trekking, Pilates in the mountains and the ActivCamp for children during the summer holidays. Activities take place in small groups and are led by knowledgeable local guides who know the area and its unique character inside out. It's a wonderful way to discover the mountains around Sterzing from different perspectives—actively, at a relaxed pace and often away from the more popular routes.
If you prefer to explore independently, you can hire e-bikes, mountain bikes and all the equipment you need directly from the Outdoor Center. We also offer bike trailers for children and dogs, child carrier backpacks, as well as pushchairs for hire.
The daily guided hikes, bike tours and family activities are free of charge for ActiveCard holders. Without an ActiveCard, prices generally range from €15 to €20.
Yes. Booking is required no later than the day before your chosen activity. In winter, there may still be places available on ski lessons or private tuition at short notice. However, the earlier you book, the better your chances of securing your preferred dates and times. In summer, tours may be cancelled if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
Yes. We recommend booking early, especially during the summer holidays and at weekends. Reservations can be made online, by email, by telephone or in person.
We recommend that both children and adults wear a helmet when cycling.
Yes. Bicycles can also be returned at other participating locations throughout South Tyrol.
Absolutely. Many activities are designed especially for families, including llama and alpaca trekking, family hikes and the ActivCamp for children.
Activities may be cancelled if prolonged heavy rain is forecast. If there are any changes or cancellations, we'll inform all registered participants as early as possible.
For most summer activities, comfortable leisure or sportswear and a waterproof jacket are all you need. For hiking, sturdy footwear with good grip is essential. You can hire e-bikes and helmets for cycling tours directly from us. If any special equipment is required for a particular activity, we'll let you know when you book. We also hire out bike trailers for children and dogs, as well as pushchairs.
Yes. Our bike workshop offers repairs and servicing for bicycles and e-bikes.
The Outdoor Center is located on the ground floor of the Rosskopf bottom station in Sterzing and is easily accessible by both car and public transport.
