Three Peaks – the most beautiful sunrise in the Dolomites

Approx. 50-minute hike from the Auronzo Hut (2.330 m) to the Paternsattel. The blue hour is a time of calm and transition, announcing the upcoming sunrise with a picturesque play of colors. In the light of the rising sun, the Three Peaks reveal their full brilliance – a natural spectacle among the most beautiful in the Dolomites. The subsequent walk to the Langalm (breakfast option) and back to the starting point completes this unique nature experience. Round trip with the hiking bus. Bring along: good walking shoes, warm clothing, hat and gloves, warm drink and snacks. Suitable for children aged 10 and over.

Meeting point: bus stop in Welsberg, Rienzbrücke (opposite Bar Parkcafé). Start time depending on sunrise.

Service description

Sunrise hike accompanied by a professional hiking guide. After sunrise, three options are available: return to the Auronzo Hut with return transfer (arrival around 10:00 am), independent continuation to the Dreizinnen Hut with descent into the Fischlein Valley or Innerfeld Valley (approx. 3.5 hours), or independent continuation to the Büllelejoch Hut with descent into the Fischlein Valley, Sexten (approx. 4.5 hours). In case of independent continuation, the return journey is by public bus (Guest Pass free of charge).

Getting to Welsberg: 

By car: 

Free parking at the train station and at the Welsberg Mitte exit. The meeting point can be reached in 5–10 minutes on foot. 

Useful information / what to bring

Südtirol Guest Pass – Gsiesertal-Welsberg-Taisten Card. It is recommended to bring a small snack and a warm drink. Suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are important for the tour – temperatures can still be low in the morning (shorts are not recommended; a hat and gloves are advisable). In addition, sun protection (hat, sunscreen) and rainwear should not be forgotten.
